Vacations

It's no secret that Aaron and I love to go on vacation. We have this internal clock of adventure and after awhile it starts ticking and we have to get out of dodge and go experience something. Aaron grew up in Texas and had only been to Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas when we met. I've traveled half of the United States and have lived in California, North Dakota, Indiana and Texas by the time I was 21.

Our first big vacation was our honeymoon. We took a road-trip to California to visit my favorite city, San Francisco, then headed on to Vegas. Awesome trip, bad timing. The 2nd day was 9/11. Sad and scary to be away from home.

Next up we planned a two week trip to Europe. We were going to visit Aaron's uncle who was there for work. We bought a tent to camp our way across England, Paris, Amsterdam and Italy. Literally days before paying our deposits, the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull decided to erupt and suspend European air travel for days. Europe was out of the question. Instead we headed to San Diego for a two week cruise to Alaska. Amazing. Absolutely amazing. We met our wonderful friends Cath and Andy on that cruise and looking back, we are so glad that volcano decided to go off!

For spring break one year we took the kids on a camping trip through Arkansas. It was so much fun and the kids still talk about it. What a beautiful state.

Our next trip after that was another cruise, this time to the Caribbean. We visited Cozumel, Jamaica and Grand Cayman. What a blast! That is a stingray we are holding, it was huge!

October 2012 we took a road trip from Texas to Vegas, stopping off in Utah to see Zion National Park. What a week! We were in Vegas for Cath and Andy's wedding. How honored we were to be included!!

So that leads us to our next adventure...

Iceland!
